Wilsons Promontory
National Park
The Prom, as it is affectionately known, is one of those very special places. It has walking tracks ranging from 30 minutes to overnight, through rainforest and rugged coastal landscapes. There’s rocky Mount Oberon, granite headlands and out to sea, giant rocks nestle among the waves. You’ll find an abundance of wildlife at the Prom and visiting the 1859 lighthouse is truly a trip back in time.
Cape Conran Coastal Park
Here you’ll enjoy the ultimate beach escape. The temperate, clear waters are home to a wealth of colourful marine plants and animals. Swimming, surfing, snorkelling and diving are the big attractions. Even if you’re not in the water, you may be lucky enough to spot a seal, dolphin or even a whale. Other regular visitors are bandicoots, wombats and potoroos.
Buchan Caves Reserve
Located near the charming township of Buchan, this is the idyllic base camp from which to visit an enchanting, colourful underground world. You’ll marvel at the Fairy Cave’s elaborate stalactites and stalagmites and the magnificent calcite-rimmed pools of Royal Cave. Above ground you’ll discover plenty of wildlife. Bellbirds, lyrebirds and kangaroos are just a few of the friendly locals waiting to greet you.
